Our very special adoption event is happening this Saturday (the 18th) from 11a to 7p at PetSmart in Salem (2925 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem). Take advantage of BOGO pricing during this event. Choose two cats, and pay nothing for the cat with the smaller adoption fee. Who can you meet during the event? We'll have plenty of kittens (of course). But we're also bringing some very special adults, including Moo here. He's a 5yo spotted cat with gorgeous green eyes. He's lived with both dogs and children in the past, and he did well with them. It's been said that there is someone out there for It's been said that there is someone out there for everyone. Sweet Buddy here sure hopes that's true. This 5yo lab mix has been looking for the right family for quite some time. While many people have expressed interest in him, the right people haven't stepped up quite yet. Maybe you can help make that happen! Like many of his breed, Buddy is lively and active. He would love to go running, hiking, camping, and more with someone just like you. He can settle with his loved ones, and he enjoys a good cuddle session. But he really will need someone who stays on the go, so he can give that lab mind a good workout. He gets very excited when he sees other dogs, and he's been making great strides with our training team on his exuberant greetings. The third week in September is Adopt a Less-Adopta The third week in September is Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Week. It's a good time to introduce you to Edward! He may be handsome as all getout, and at 3yo, he's a young gent. But he's a bit harder to find a family for as he doesn't get along with other cats. Edward has an incredibly rough and rowdy play style that some cats (including kittens) find very intimidating. When they attempt to end the play, Edward can be redirected with toys. But if humans aren't there to intervene, rough play can continue. Edward is likely to be happiest as your only cat. And with his big personality, he's really all the cat any family will need. He loves to play with interactive toys, such as wands humans hold, and he'll keep you entertained with leaps and bounds. He's sweetly affectionate too, and he loves lap time. We're looking for foster families right now. Why s We're looking for foster families right now. Why should you help? Let's ask Luke here. This pretty poodle has a genetic eye issue that causes blindness. He found the shelter environment both strange and a bit overwhelming, and it was hard for him to settle and feel comfortable. A foster family saved the day. They took Luke home with them, and they provided our medical and training team with a lot of information about what he liked and disliked. Best of all, they helped him feel calm and comfortable while he waited. And it worked! In just a few short weeks, Luke was adopted and is now living in a very loving family.
