We’ve created a new program for kids ages 5 to 11, and Sticky the Kitty is helping us kick things off with a bang. Come to Kitten-Kaboodle in the Salem Center Mall on August 24th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for an afternoon of cuddles, reading, and learning.
Our new program, Shelter Storytime, brings together kids, reading, and shelter pets. Sign up, and your child can read to sweet pets in the shelter. Brush up on reading skills, while helping shelter pets stay calm and comfortable as they wait for their forever families. You can find out more about the program here.
Not sure if this is right for your child? That’s what this event is all about.
Bring your child to meet local celebrity Sticky the Kitty. Meet the kitty in the fur, and listen to his guardian read from one of his two books. Then, let your child read a Sticky the Kitty book (or another of your choosing) to one of the adorable cats in our kitten library.
The schedule for the day looks like this:
- 1:30 p.m.: Welcome and introduction to the Shelter Storytime project
- 2 p.m.: Read along with Sticky the Kitty
- 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Read to kitten library residents
There’s no fee for this event, but your donations are gratefully accepted. And we’d love to see your child sign up for this program! You can do that on this page. Scroll down and enroll in orientation first.
We can’t wait to see you!
