Shelter Operations and COVID-19

With the news about coronavirus (COVID-19) changing rapidly, Willamette Humane Society is taking precautions to ensure the health and well-being of our pets and people. Currently, the shelter is offering appointment-only services daily (Monday through Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Here’s how to book an appointment for the specific service you need:

    Please note! We’re currently receiving more than 3X the usual volume of adoption inquiries and our team is working hard to follow up with all potential pet parents. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and kindness during this time!
  • If you need to surrender an animal or bring in a stray, please schedule an appointment with our Customer Service Team by calling and leaving a message at 503-585-5900 (select option #1) or by emailing

Other Shelter Programs & Services

The downtown WHS Thrift Store is open for shopping. Our retail team has been hard at work sprucing up the store during our closure, so be sure to stop by and see all their hard work! We’re also accepting thrift store donations by appointment only. Please call ahead for additional information and scheduling: (503) 362-6892.

The WHS Behavior and Training Program is offering in-person classes and one-on-one training sessions, as well as virtual options to meet client needs. Click here to learn more!

Please note the following shelter services and programs are closed at this time:

  • WHS Spay and Neuter Clinic, closed to the public until further notice.
  • In-person and onsite shelter events and programs, cancelled through the end of December 2020.
