Generous donors like you make Willamette Humane Society more than a shelter. Your gifts help thousands of animals and their people each year with high level medical and behavioral services, pre and post-adopter consultations, adoption guarantees or a full refund, pet behavior helpline, canine behavior training and end of life services.
In addition, you support community programs that address prevention and change behaviors such as our low cost spay/neuter surgery for community dogs and cats and humane education programs for the next generation of pet lovers.
We are your local animal welfare organization and we are funded by you! Our ability to help the animals in Marion and Polk Counties is exclusively dependent upon the support of individual, corporate and foundation donors, fees for service, and through our stores. Thank you for giving our community such a significant resource for companion dogs and cats.
When you make a gift, check with your employer for a matching gift program. Generally a simple form is provided stating who is giving and the amount. Just send that form to us with your contribution and we will do the rest. It’s simple and effective.
If you are a state or federal employee, please know that you can give to Willamette Humane Society through payroll deduction via the Combined Federal Campaign or Local Independent Charities of America. The WHS number is #20007.
Willamette Humane received the Independent Charities Seal of Excellence each year since our first application in 2008. This award is given to charities that have, upon rigorous independent review, been able to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.
These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.
