I have four very special cats to tell you about this week, including one special sweetie that has absolutely stolen the heart of his foster family. Just a reminder that we’re closed until July 5, but when we reopen, all of these guys would love to go home.
Let’s get started.
Sweet Cat Levi
First up is this 5-year-old kitty named Levi. He has a wonderful cream-and-orange coat that reminds me a little of a Creamsicle. Perfect for the summertime!
Sweet Levi was found as a stray in an abandoned building. We’re not quite sure how he got there, but we’re thankful he’s not living in that environment right now!
When he was found, Levi had really sticky and sore eyes. We discovered that his eyelashes curled in toward his eyes, and he needed surgery for that. I met Levi right after his surgery, and he wasn’t at all sure about people or shelter life. Now that his eyes have healed and he is feeling better, he has blossomed into a very friendly and loving cat.
Levi gets along nicely with other cats, although he can be a little timid. He might do best with a kind roommate that won’t pick on him. We’re not sure how he feels about dogs.
Foster Favorite Cat Zorro
Next up is this 7-year-old sweetie named Zorro. He’s been waiting for the perfect home for quite some time, and we’re all hoping this is the week his wait comes to an end!
Zorro was found as a stray cat, and he had terrible dental issues. He had surgery to remove many sore, angry, and infected teeth that were certainly bothering him. While he recovered, he went into a foster home for care. And here is where he truly blossomed.
Zorro could be a little frightened and wary in the shelter, but his foster family found the sweet cat hiding inside. He did run from his caretakers at first, but over time, he learned to trust them. Soon, he started purring when he saw them. And then, he started sleeping next to them at night. It’s so wonderful to see this sweet cats heal up and learn to love.
Zorro has returned to the shelter, and he’s ready for his forever fit. He does startle easily, so he’s hoping for a quiet home. But that’s his only real demand. He has lived with cats, but he might prefer to be your only pet.
Handsome Cat Claudius
This adorable guy is Claudius, and he’s about 10 years old. He poses so nicely for the camera!
Claudius was found as a stray cat, and he had truly terrible teeth. He had surgery to remove some of the more infected bits, and we polished and shined his smile up too. He feels so much better! And he was a lovely little patient. He never gave us any trouble at all.
Claudius is a little thin, and he seems a touch frail. He would love a calm and quiet family that can help him to gain some weight and feel safe during his senior years. He enjoys the company of all the people he meets, and he doesn’t seem to require long introductions or sensitive handling.
It’s hard for seniors to wait for homes in the shelter, and we hope this guy doesn’t have long to wait.
Volunteer Favorite Cat Siren
Finally, let me tell you about Siren. She’s about 5 years old, and she has our volunteers wrapped around her furry little paw. She’s been waiting for a home for awhile, and we’re hoping she goes home soon.
Here’s what one of her volunteer fans has to say about her.
“Siren is always at the front of her kennel, very friendly, gives lots of head butts, loves petting, talks to you while you are petting her. She is a very active girl with a lively spirit. Siren is what I would call bewitching! She was brought in with very little fur and was in medical holding for some time. Her humans were moving. I felt very sorry for the sweetheart. But she is adjusting to the shelter, and she just hasn’t found her family yet. I hope it’s soon!”
Siren was described by her family as a “best friend that is always there for you.” She has a good history of living with dogs, and she has lived with cats too.
That’s it for this week! If you see a kitty on here you love, come down to visit. They go faster than you might think is possible! And if you don’t find someone you love, remember: This is just a sample of the cats we’re trying to find homes for. There’s bound to be love within our walls.
If names are underlined, the kitty is still up for adoption. Click that link to find out more about age, price, etc. And if you feel compelled, click the “sponsor” button to help support this kitty’s stay. Thank you!
