The Original Food Truck Frenzy is back, presented by Willamette Humane Society and VCA Salem Animal Hospital! Join us on Friday, May 19 from 5-9 p.m. at Willamette Humane Society for Salem’s favorite food trucks, beer from Santiam Brewing Company, music, doggy play groups, extended shelter hours, and more.
This is a family-friendly and dog-friendly event—just remember that four-legged attendees must be on leash. Bring blankets, chairs, and your appetite. Remember our amazing food truck partners donate tips and Santiam Brewing donates a portion of its proceeds to support local pets in need.
There will be free parking here at the shelter, as well as the Garmin parking lot (2345 Turner Rd SE, Salem, OR 97302) just up the road. We have FREE dog-friendly shuttles continuously running from Garmin and WHS starting at 5 p.m. There will also be ADA parking directly in front of the shelter in our main lot.
Attending the event? Please note!
◘ Anticipate the dinner rush! We have more than 1,500 people interested in this event, so we anticipate a big crowd.
◘ The shelter will be open during the event. But if you plan to visit, remember that so much activity and noise can be stressful for the animals. Please note that your own pets attending the event cannot go in with you. We’ll have staff on hand to help enforce capacity limits and ask you to be mindful while you’re around the pets.
◘ Dogs attending the event with you must remain on leash at all times. We do have off-leash, monitored playgroups for them to enjoy! Please bring poop bags and clean up after them.
◘ There will be plenty of seating, but we recommend bringing chairs and blankets if you can!
◘ This event is happening outside in our field. Always watch your step in case of uneven ground.
◘ We recommend parking at Garmin (2345 Turner Rd SE, Salem, OR 97302) just up the road and catching our free shuttles to the shelter. Shuttles run every 10 minutes to and from the event starting at 5 p.m. The shuttle is dog-friendly so your pooch can ride with you.
◘ Overflow parking is available in a lot across the street from the shelter. Parking attendants will be out and about to assist—just look for orange vests. Please be careful when crossing Turner Road, especially after dark.
◘ There will also be ADA parking directly in front of the shelter in our main lot. There will also be extended handicap parking in front of the entrance gate, however this is not van accessible.
◘ Staff and volunteers will be onsite to help answer any questions!
