Major Donation Comes from National Subaru Share the Love Event
Salem, OR (April 11, 2016) – On Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m., national representatives from Subaru of America and local leaders of Capitol Subaru presented a $40,000 check to Willamette Humane Society (WHS) as the culmination of their holiday season “Share the Love” event.
Subaru donated $250 to a customer’s choice of charities for new vehicles, sold or leased, between November 19, 2015 and January 2, 2016. Capitol Subaru in Salem chose WHS as their local hometown charity for the second year running. Other national charity options included: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®, Make-A-Wish, Meals On Wheels Association of America® and National Park Foundation.
“Capitol Subaru has supported Willamette Humane Society for over 20 years. We want to thank them for this new, phenomenal opportunity,” said BJ Andersen, Executive Director of WHS. “This thoughtful gesture allows our community to open the floodgates of Subaru of America’s generosity to care for animals at the shelter.”
At the check presentation, WHS leaders attended with dogs, volunteers and pet lovers to thank Subaru of America for instituting the Share the Love event, and to thank Capitol Subaru for choosing to support animals at the shelter. Willamette Humane Society encourages community members, who participated in Subaru’s Share the Love Event, to share their experience online using the hashtags #sharethelovewithWHS, #sharethelove, #subaru and #whs4pets.
