Joy St. Peter is the founder and director of Joys of Living Assistance Dogs. She started this non-profit organization in 2004 and has worked hard to achieve the organization’s goal of producing quality service dogs for those in need. She has been successful in developing a comprehensive training program, from puppy raising and socialization in the homes of dedicated volunteers to mutually beneficial training programs in prisons. Joy is a member of Assistance Dog United Campaign and Assistance Dog International.
Terri Allen is integral to Pure Joy Canine Therapy, a subsidiary of JLAD. Through extensive training of community handlers and their dogs, these teams are able to serve and enrich the lives of people in nursing homes, recovery centers, schools, hospice, and more. The impact they have on those they meet is profound and a driving force for Terri to continue to build their program.
