Hey all, it’s Rachel!
I am in need of some help from my favorite Community ever.
You see, as a mother of 4, with 3 cats and a dog, I know what a LOT of laundry looks like. This, my friends, is a lot of laundry.
We, from our front line employees all the way through management, all try our best to get involved in the team effort of washing, drying, folding, restocking, but there are only so many hours in a day, and only so many of us! We could certainly use some help with our housekeeping.
We would love to have some more volunteers in our laundry and dishes rotation. Just a couple hours a week would benefit not only the staff, but our animals. We are changing out their blankets, towels, bowls and litter boxes, sometimes multiple times a day. We need to have clean, stocked laundry, water and food bowls, and litter boxes to make this process easier.
We sure would love to have you!
If you would love to donate your time to Willamette Humane and our mission of providing compassionate services to pets and people, fill out an application and then join us for a volunteer orientation: held every month on the first Monday and third Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM, whichever works best for you! Volunteering is a not only a great way to give to us, but also great for employment resumes and college applications. If you are over the age of 16, you can volunteer with us without a parent, and those 12 and up can volunteer with a guardian. 🙂
Some of the other areas we could always use more volunteers:
- Exam Support, helping intake dogs and cats
- Data Entry and office support
- Dog walking
- Kennel Buddies
- Cat Area Volunteers
- Kennel Cleaning
- Customer Service
- And much more!
If you can’t volunteer, you can still help by sharing this post so we can reach more people.
It takes a village to do what we do, and we have the very best village in you.
Rachel enjoys connecting with customers, hearing their stories and happy tails, getting to know the members of our community, both 4 legged and otherwise, and posting to Willamette Humane Society's social media pages, sharing stories of the good stuff happening here.
When she isn't at work, Rachel spends her time covered in cat fur with her 4 (almost 5) kids, 3 cats, 1 dog, darling husband and a partridge in a pear tree.
