Dear Fellow Dog Lovers,

This post is a special one thanks to WHS Trainers Jessi and Nichole who held a Thanksgiving-themed photo shoot with Sherlock and Lila.
But first, here are the SIX dog adoptions from the past week!

There were two newbies that I never got pictures of, Eeyore and Java, but happy that they were adopted so quickly.
Beautiful Neva, our sweet girl with two different-colored eyes went home with her new family!

Daysha, a serious but stunning girl, also found her new home.

Shy but affectionate Kova also is settling in with her new peeps.

Harley, also a timid but beautiful youngster, was adopted!

I have written about both Lila and Sherlock in past posts, but they are still waiting for their perfect family fits. Since they have been at the shelter for a while, they know the ropes and are pros at being Shelter Dog Advocates. So when WHS Trainers Nichole and Jessi wanted two stars for a Thanksgiving photo shoot, it was a no-brainer whom they would enlist. Lila and Sherlock were happy to help out. And maybe, just maybe, their forever families will finally discover them. They did, however, have some thoughts during the shoot.
This is Sherlock.

This is Lila.

If you are a Hound-savvy person, read all about Sherlock in these posts:

We’re hoping this boy will finally find his perfect match of a family soon.

I would be very thankful for a special home with just the right family. Maybe it’s yours?
Are you wishing you had a little buddy in your life who has a few quirks, but would love you unconditionally? Perhaps Sanders will be your next best friend.

Found as a stray, Sanders came to us with no history. We think he is about two years old. We also think he may be deaf. He will need a quiet home with understanding and patient people who will give him time to adjust and warm up to a new family.
Sanders was adopted once, but did not like living with a cat, so was returned. However, the family  had good things to say about him during his time with them. He is very affectionate and slept with his person at night. He is house-trained and never had an accident. He would stand at the door and whine when he needed to go out.

Sanders has been in our gentle playgroups, but does not engage in play. He will co-exist with another small dog, but would rather be the only pet in the family.
Sanders is shy when first meeting a new person, but once he feels comfortable he will jump into your lap and ask for your undivided attention. He is easily startled by sudden movements and uncomfortable in hectic environments. He would do best with either an adult home or one with older children who would give Sanders the space and understanding he needs.

Volunteer Ayla took Sanders into Mary’s Place and discovered that he loves to play with humans. “He got the zoomies! He likes small stuffed and rope toys. Jumped up on his hind legs for a toy, then shook it with his mouth. He’s really coming out of his shell. He’s a sweetheart.”

If you have patience, a quiet home with no other pets, and a desire for a new best buddy, fill out the Adoption Questionnaire by clicking on the link “Ask About Sanders” under his picture on the WHS adoptable dog page found here: https://whs4pets.org/adopt-a-pet/dogs-2/

There are two fun updates this week.
Gunner and Thor
I love getting Gunner and Thor updates! Gunner was adopted in 2014, and Thor in October of 2019. Here the family is the day they took Thor home.

Here is the latest update.
“Just wanted to send an email to let you know everything is still great!! It’s been a little over a year since we adopted Thor and we can’t imagine our life without him. He loves going on car rides. He still gets a little nervous in the car, but when he knows he’s going somewhere, oh man, talk about excitement!!! He now goes to the doggy spa with Gunner once a month. He doesn’t love that yet, but likes to go where Gunner goes. I’ve included a picture from Halloween.”

Molly
And for all of the Molly fans, here’s her latest. I laughed out loud when I saw it!
“Molly takes her job of keeping us company while we work remotely very seriously. She loves lying on the couch while we work and will occasionally watch us to supervise and gets lots of kisses and cuddles in between work. She likes to get cozy with blankets after a walk in the rain and take little naps in her blanket cocoon. She is so, so loved and we love having her as our “coworker.”

Jack and Snoop as puppies
For those of you who are regular readers of my blog posts, you know the Jack and Snoop story.
This was Jack with the boys’ favorite dog trainer, Cash.

And here is Snoop with Cash.

Jack and Snoop were not only brothers, but best friends.

Their original owner was heartbroken when she had to give the boys up. This week she sent me some picture of Jack and Snoop when they were puppies and I thought their many fans would love to see them.

Wishing all of my readers a very Happy Thanksgiving!
That’s it for this week!
