Willamette Humane Society Partners with Capitol Subaru for National Fundraising Campaign

The Annual “Share the Love” Campaign, Hosted by Subaru of America, Has Raised More Than $235,000 for Local Shelter Animals in the Last Five Years

SALEM, Ore. ─ Nov. 14, 2019 ─ Willamette Humane Society (WHS) today announced its partnership with Capitol Subaru as the business’s hometown charity of choice in the national Share the Love campaign. This is the fifth year WHS has been named a local partner in the gift campaign, which has raised more than $235,000 to support shelter animals.

“We couldn’t care for the over 4,000 animals that come through the shelter doors each year without the support of our community and such dedicated local businesses like Capitol Subaru,” said Sherri Partridge, Community Philanthropy Officer at WHS. “Capitol Subaru has been such an incredible partner with Willamette Humane Society not only through the Share the Love program but also in supporting so many of our fundraising events that make a significant impact on the lives of pets and people.”

As an independent nonprofit organization, WHS does not receive funding from city or county government and largely relies on donations from community members and businesses such as Capitol Auto Group to fund life-saving programs. In its last fiscal year, the shelter celebrated a combined save rate of over 95 percent for cats and dogs.

To participate, consumers must buy or lease a new Subaru between November 14, 2019, and January 2, 2020, and name Willamette Humane Society as their charity of choice. Subaru of America, Inc. will donate $250 for each new vehicle leased or sold. Share the Love is a national giving campaign that has donated more than $140 million to national charities—including The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America and National Park Foundation—and over 1,170 hometown charities like WHS.
