WHS and Capitol Subaru Share the Love

Willamette Humane Society (WHS) and Capitol Subaru are joining forces to help pets and the people that love them. For the eighth year in a row, Capitol Subaru has named Willamette Humane Society the local charity for Subaru’s Share the Love campaign, happening Nov. 18, 2021, to Jan. 3, 2022.

Share the Love is a national giving campaign that has donated more than $200 million to over 1,440 national and local charity partners over the last 13 years.

To participate, consumers must buy, lease, or order a new Subaru and name WHS as the charity of choice. Subaru of America, Inc. will donate $250 per vehicle to WHS.

“We continue to be humbled that for the eighth year in a row, Capitol Subaru has selected WHS as their hometown charity of choice. They also partner with us on so many other projects that benefit shelter dogs and cats,” said Sherri Partridge, Community Philanthropy Officer. “As an independent nonprofit organization, WHS does not receive funding from city or county government and largely relies on donations from community members and businesses such as Capitol Auto Group to fund programs.”

To celebrate this partnership, WHS and Capitol Subaru are planning a very special holiday event, called Paws for Love, at Capitol Subaru on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. People visiting the dealership at 920 Auto Group Ave. NE in Salem, can sample snacks from food carts, check out Dapper Dog mobile grooming, and visit with a WHS trainer.

At the event, when you purchase a present for your pet at Happy Paws, the animal-themed store located within the dealership, you’ll get free gift wrapping.

“Capitol Subaru is honored to have selected Willamette Humane Society as our local charity of choice for Subaru’s annual Share The Love event. At Capitol Subaru, we believe in supporting our community and in making a difference. And that includes helping create better lives for our furry friends as well,” said Carrie Casebeer, Marketing Director at Capitol Auto Group.
